ZOO CARE SOCIALS
The Iris Club maintains seven Iris Gardens at the Detroit Zoo, next to Rackham Fountain (the bear fountain across from the camels). From April through October we meet the first Saturday morning (second Saturday if the first is a holiday weekend or rained out) for a couple of hours for our Zoo Care Social to plant, divide, clean, and weed the beds. There is no charge for club members to enter the Zoo to work on the gardens. This is a good opportunity to gain hands-on iris experience, ask a million questions, and get to know fellow iris lovers. For dates of the Zoo Care Socials, please see the Calendar of Events. |

ANNUAL IRIS SALE
The Iris Club of Southeast Michigan's Annual Iris Sale is the main fund raising event of the year for the club. You do not need to be a club member to attend the sale, and admission is free. This is a great opportunity to purchase irises at reasonable prices. Occasionally, other perennials are also available to purchase.
Club members are encouraged to participate in any of the following ways:
- Attend and help with a myriad of duties.
- Bring goodies to eat for the workers that stay all day for the sale.
- Bring your iris donations, washed and accurately labeled with photos of the bloom, if possible.
- Encourage fellow iris club members to attend.
- Spread the word to your friends and neighbors who share your love for flowers.
For information on the date, time and location of our Annual Iris Sale, please see our Calendar of Events.
