October 6 @ 8:00am-11:00am--Zoo Care Social: Maintenance of the iris gardens at the Detroit Zoo. (Rain date: October 13)

October 25 @ 7:30pm--General Meeting:

Speaker: Daniel Devlin
Topic: Discover Spuria

Iris Club member, Dan Devlin, shares a Spuria Iris Society slide show. Spuria irises are that group of beardless irises listed as the Series Spuriae of the Apogon (beardless) subsection. Most spurias in cultivation are hybrids ranging in height from 36 – 64 inches. Spurias normally bloom later than tall beardeds and they perform well in undisturbed clumps for many seasons. (Dan's presentation will follow the club's brief business meeting).

There is no cost to attend this event. Parking and admission are free. Please bring a friend! Light refreshments will be served.
